Most guys who don’t know much about lifting weights will attack their bicep muscles because those are the show me muscles of the arms. What most people don’t know is that the tricep muscles make up two thirds of the arm. Building the biceps will look nice, but in order to get bigger the triceps must be built. It is crucial to build both evenly so that you will get the results you want.

The best thing for someone who doesn’t have the time or money to go to a gym is to invest about fifty dollars or so on an easy curl bar, a pair of dumbbells, and some weights to change up the curl bar and dumbbell weights. You can also search around the local newspapers and garage sales and probably find all this for twenty dollars or less. These are a great starter kit to build your arms.

Once you have acquired all the necessary equipment, it is time to start building those guns. An excellent workout for the tricep muscle is called a “skullcrusher”. It targets all three heads of the tricep for better bulk and good definition. Lie on your back on a bench or the ground holding the easy curl bar directly above your head. Use a very light weight as this exercise is much harder than it looks. Keep your arms locked perpendicular to the floor. Slowly bend your elbows to lower the weight until it is right above your head, then push directly up, keeping your elbows in throughout the movement. Repeat this eight to ten times and do three to four sets. You will definitely see results from this workout. Add in some close grip pushups and dumbbell kickbacks to add more definition to the tricep muscles.

Now after you have targeted the mass of the arm, it is time for the show me part of the arm. As I’m sure we all know, in order to get nice biceps we have to curl, curl, curl. The key here is to add a variety of angles to the curl. Changing the pitch of the arms, up and down, inside and out, will hit different aspects of the bicep muscle. You will use dumbbells to isolate each arm, and you will use the easy curl bar to work both arms at the same time.

These are just a few basic tips to add size and strength to your arms. It is cheap and easy to do so without even leaving the house. Try these exercises every couple of days and you will see the results you want. Hopefully then you will start seeing the ladies you want!
